Chocolate Cherry Smoothie

Almost every client I see in private practice expects me to force them into making green smoothies on the daily. While personally, I love a good greenie, I am a firm believer that whatever you incorporate into your wellness routine has to get you excited!

This smoothie literally tastes like a delicious chocolate cherry milkshake and will be a delightful addition to your day. Plus, it is balanced with protein and healthy fats to keep you satiated.

Disclaimer: smoothies do digest quickly because they are liquid, so if you plan on enjoying this recipe as a meal, please pair it with another tasty balanced food (for example, my delicious and easy egg cups).

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen cherries

  • 2 tbsp cacao powder

  • 2 tbsp pumpkin seed protein or hemp protein powder (hemp hearts work too)

  • 1 tbsp nut butter

  • 1 tbsp coconut kefir

  • 2-3 ripe bananas

  • 2-3 cups of almond, cashew, or oat milk

Directions:

Place all ingredients into a high-speed blender and puree until smooth & all frozen fruit is blended fully. Add more liquid for a runnier smoothie or add slightly less liquid for a thicker smoothie… you can also add in a handful of spinach for some well-hidden veggies if desired!
